November 1st - All Saints Day

Last Saturday was All Saints Day and also would have been Dad’s 73rd birthday.

To mark this special day 24 of us travelled to Grosmont to have Lunch on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway Dinning Train.

Before departure we held a small service on the platform and then Dad’s ashes where passed to the driver John Hunt.

Also travelling on the steam locomotive footplate was my sister Sue.

As the train went up the hill by Eskdale Cottages the driver placed the Ash’s in the smokebox and he sounded a long whistle.

Meanwhile back in the Pullman carriages we all enjoyed the good food and knowing this was just the kind of day Dad used to enjoy.

Good Food and a ride on a steam train.

This link will let you view some more of the pictures.
